Come and share your interest in New England History. Our mantra is "THE PAST IS A BLAST!" We are currently coordinating the New England History Festival. Our focus is on New England Folklore and Legends, Native Americans, The Pilgrims, The Revolutionary War, The Civil War, World War II, the 17th, 18th, 19th and the 20th Centuries. We will chat about the history of New England fashion, food, retail, industry, architecture, suffrage, prohibition, cemeteries, archaeology, education, sports, shipping, whaling, antiques, ghost legends, religion, railroad, automobiles, newspapers, aviation, engineering, celebrities, media and those "good old days". We'll discuss historical weather and astronomical events, earthquakes and disasters. We will discuss good historical books, and movies. Each member will have a chance to talk about their favorite subjects, either informally or in a presentation. We'll suggest field trips to lectures at historical societies or libraries, colonial re-enactments, museums, exhibits, historical houses, restaurants, concerts or cemeteries. We'll go to famous landmarks and trek the Freedom Trail. Remember, we are a Democracy!
